What is the expected water pump life expectancy, and is there a standard time it should be changed
I had my water pump go out at approx 70,000 miles should it have been changed earlier?

I seen water pumps leaking at 10,000 miles others last 150,000 miles. There its no maintenance u do to a water pump, other than checking the drive belts and replacing coolant.Coolant should be done on a regular basis, as per the manufacturer recommendations. Check your owners manual for the maintenance schedule.Clean coolant helps minimize corrosion inside cooling system.Dirty or contaminated coolant may cause the water pump seal to fail and cause a leak.
