1990 Mercedes Benz 300TE Base 6Cyl3.0L - Engine
Engine heating up and cooling system does not function properly
Water temperature goes to 110 and even 120 degree C during Summer when A/C is on or off, especially at traffic lights waiting. All of the following parts have been changed with new Mercedes parts:

Radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses, secondary electric fans in front of radiator, cataletic convertor and exhaust system, and flushed the engine. Head gasket changed and valves checked; Except changing the body!!! and still not cured.

Appreciate any useful comments.

is it overheating? was the corret temperature thermostat put in? is the fan kicking on at the right time? check fan relays. Check temperature sensor, could be reading temperature incorrectly. Again is there anything happening besides the gauge going hi? like running rough etc? Use a infrared temperature gun to check if the sensor is reading the correct temperature.

Have you replaced the fan clutch? It is supposed to increase the fan speed when the temperature goes above certain level. Otherwise the fan is kind of "free wheeling" which is not enough in the warm weather.
