Bobby 4/12/2010Loss of fuel, loss of spark, or loss of barttery and electric. When you tried starting the vehicle again did anything happen? When you stalled did anything unusual happen? or did the car just start coasting?

HouseCallAuto 5/15/2010High probability of a bad fuel pump but it has to be verified. You could try banging upward on the fuel tank with a rubber mallet while a helper tries to start it. If it starts you just diagnosed a bad fuel pump. One detail though......try starting it without banging first just before you try the mallet so as to assure that it was indeed the mallet trick that got it going. Check for spark if that does not do it. Listen for the fuel pump to run for two seconds when the key is switched to on (not crank) . If no two second humm from the fuel tank it is 90% likely that the pump is bad. Sometimes but not often it is the relay that fails but it is rare. -
