engine does not accelerate when gas pedal is pushed down all the way.

the engine power flattens out or wont accelerate or take off when the gas pedal is pressed down all the way. if u take of slowly and dont press it down all the way it seems the power is fine.

  I would check the plugs first. Does it do the same thing in reverse? Unfortunately, this sounds a lot like a slipping transmission. Probably not what you want to hear but fairly common in that vehicle.
