i was drivin heard a pop went to turn around and no reverse and goes to 3500rpm b4 shiftin to 2nd gear

  doesn't sound good..... probably an internal transmission problem. Standard or automatic? Standard could be the clutch. Automatic then it could definately be a more significant problem.

  700 r chevy trans known for that cost me 500 a couple yrs at a small shop...some guys will fix rather than rebuild ....mine is still holding 4 yrs later
