Why does drivers side window closes then moves half way down?

The only way to close is to perform short lifts on power switch until all the way up. Occurs all the time. Is it a bad motor or regulator?

  Sounds like the it's reversing because it thinks it's pinching something. Try learning the full up and full down positions and see what happens.
