My car has 159000 miles on it (rough estimate). The brake and battery light turns on whenever the car stalls. I have checked and added transmission fluid and has ran a little better. I am not sure if there is anything wrong with driving it to the mechanic's place so s/he can take a look at what exactly the problem is. The only problem is the closest mechanic that I trust is 26 miles away. Is it safe to drive it in to the mechanic?
