1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport 6Cyl4.0L - Engine
why dose my jeep not start in P, but sometimes start in N?
will turn on some times, but as soon as i get it started once i turn it off, will not start again. starter , alternator , new battery, all good fuses. some one mentioned it could be parking switch, but who knows were that is?need some good sugestions. like i said will not start in P but only some times it will start in N...

    Most likely the issue is a faulty neutral safety switch / range sensor. The neutral safety switch is mounted on the outside of the transmission housing - near / next to the shift lever. This switch is very easy to replace. Try the 'How-To-Guides' feature on the AutoMD website for the specific steps to replace the neutral safety switch.

    Check the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.autopartswarehouse, or www.rockauto.com for the replacement parts. For example, they (RockAuto) list the neutral safety switch / range sensor from around $9.00 for your vehicle.

    Could it also be the gear-shift lever needing adjustment and it's affecting the positioning of the neutral/safety switch as it's moved from P to N?
