2002 Mazda Protege5 Base 4Cyl2.0L - Transmissions & Drivetrains
differential/transmission/noise/replace?rebuild?or reman?
replaced left front wheel bearing and axle, axle not bad,noise still there,told differential,only 69,000 miles,noise slowly progressed over the past 1 and a half years,now warrantee just over. read similar problems on other protege's with higher mileage.what do you suggest,had several options,recommended.also what can i expect from mazda/
roaring noise,slow with foot off excellerator,ticking type noise,noise started gradually,noticed didn't have the same excelleration zoom zoom affect,check engine light came on once,cleared it,was the exhaust,but due to gas cap not on so the light went off and no recurrence,trying to get replacement,used tranny,but few available

    I suggest that you take your vehicle to several service shop to be diagnose and compare diagnostic before you replace or rebuild your transmission or your differential.
