1beastlydude 2/1/2013Most likely it is a seal, depending on how your awd system operates, you might be able to get away with 2wd.
if the front drive axels spin when the truck is in 2wd then no you will burn up the differential
the easiest way to check is put it in 2wd lay in font and have a freind revese awy from you look to see if the axels are turning.
I say this because some trucks have floating hubs that let the axels sit idel when not in awd
