2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade 6Cyl3.7L - Body & Interior
Cracked Windshield / No signs of external damage
I own a 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade. Yesterday I noticed two symetrical cracks on my windshield under each wiper. There is no signs of external trauma. The cracks are inside the glass. They extend from the base of the shield cross over in an elongated u-shape pattern and end down at the base. It almost looks as if someone cut it. I'm sure that isn't the problem, because there is no external crack or punctures. What could have caused this?

Several possibilities; stress due to the body flexing (changing the geometry of the windshield posts) - sometimes occurs on off road conditions. Another possibility, is the windshield sealant or gasket overloaded or moved on one side - this would require removal / replacement of the windshield glass.
