1997 GMC K1500 Suburban SLT 8Cyl5.7L - Engine

the computer says general misfire so i replaced the spark plugs and wires but still has misfire

changed plugs and wires already

  cam position sensor(cps),is at fault.it is located inside the cap and under the rotor,it could also be the cap and rotor. the plate that the rotor is on MUST be turned so that it lines up with the c.p.s or it will not come out.

  thanks that was the next step for me. just hoping its not a valve!
