i changed my steering unit and replaced it with one that has controls over the steering...it give a gear box fault mesge

it complains of cruise control not available,i will switch off the engine and switch it on and off..the error message will disapear and come back after sometime..only shows when the car is engaged forward

  In this day and age of how cars are with more specific made parts for certain cars equipped a certain way, one cannot install a part that appears to be "similar or close in appearance, and doing so usually invites error messages. You must get the same part or in almost all cases you will not have a successful job.
