2007 Toyota Corolla LE 4Cyl1.8L - Brakes
Do Ceramic pads glaze and groove rotors?
I installed aftermarket pads and rotors on this car. My first time using ceramic pads. I immediately noticed a quiet scrubbing sound from the brakes. The brakes work well but due to the unusual noise I pulled both wheels. With just about a 1000 miles and a few weeks of use, the new rotors look glazed and grooved. The wear is even on both sides of both rotors, but this seams strange. Is this typical for ceramic pads?

wouldn't say its typical, pads will seat in and may cause some grooving, what brand of pads and rotors did you use? sometimes cheaper rotors can be the problem the grade of metal isn't always the best.

Both pads and rotors are "Wearever" from Advance Auto. An inexpensive brand, but I figured if I stayed with the same brand they would work together well. I have now been told that ceramic pads are hard on rotors.
