My cars antenna makes noise when it goes up. What could be the problem?

  The motor is functioning slowly or there is a resistance due to rust, dust or foreign particles. Also the electrical current that the motor supposedly to receive is insufficient, perhaps due to a grounded wire or the connector is loose.
