car runs for about 20 miles then shuts down,let it sit for about 20-30 mins, starts up.
we had the distributor replaced and we thought it might be defective but the mechanic said don't chase the car....Mmmm? Great car when running and we would like to keep it on the road. Car has about 280K and the distributor was replaced just about 1000 miles ago

Firebirdeluxe 9/24/2012I suspect a crankshaft sensor. See if you can get it on a diagnostics machine.
