my car is having electrical problems

just installed a new alternator the car is fine then it just dies on and off

  First step, have the charging system tested - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA.
  Have the battery and the alternator fully tested along with the charging system to determine the source of the problem; may be weak battery / faulty cell, poor wiring connections, etc.

  If you disconnected the battery to change the alternator ,you will need to have an idle adaptation performed.This procedure stabilizes the idle speed.
