2010 Toyota Matrix Base 4Cyl1.8L - Steering & Suspension

Car bottoms out when I try to haul wife's 175 lb motorized wheelchair using a chair carrier.

I have a modified trailer hitch and have installed a riser to get additional clearance but the carrier continues to bottom out. Should I change wheels to a larger wheel or stiffen the suspension?
