The rich fuel condition may be caused by several possibilities; faulty / clogged air filter (replace the air filter), dirty / fouled mass air flow sensor (clean with correct spray), faulty / worn spark plugs (replace the spark plugs).

There are many things which may lead to such smoke being released from your exhaust. The most common one though is usually the type of exhaust you have. I would suggest you check out on your exhaust and if possible acquire new ones. This will mean you get to check out what the market has to offer you then pick out the best that suits both your pocket and taste...

Black smoke comes from incomplete combustion of fuel that comes out as gases. You need a good exhaust system that ensures all gases that are released are well filtered. I have been using the magnaflow exhaust for my jeep and so far i like the results. You can shop them from http://4wheelonline.com/jeep/Jeep_Exhaust.48283. All the best. :)
