Aftermarket cold air intakes
I am going to be towing a camper this year and want to boost the horsepower/torque for towing. I've heard mixed messages about aftermarket cold air intakes. The dealer told me that they've had problems with the K&N brand causing oil to back up and that it wouldn't be covered under my warranty. He suggested I use the GM brand only (which costs twice as much). Has anyone ever had problems?

roberttr6 4/1/2010Hey Brad, there has been a long history of dealers blaming MAF sensor failures on K&N. In my experience their filters and intakes work well. I would check the K&N website for more info on the MAF sensor story. They have gone to great lengths to dispell the myths. Whats most ironic is that if the dealer is offering a CAI its probably made by K&N our one of their competitors -
