2001 Mazda MPV DX 6Cyl2.5L - Engine
Where is the "Bank 2 Sensor 1" oxygen sensor located?
I read the trouble code and it states "Bank 2 Sensor 1 htr low", which most likely means the oxygen sensor is bad. I am trying to figure out where it is located, Bank 2 is one side or the other of the engine referring to the bank of cylinders. I don't know which side is bank 2. Sensor 1 is referring to the oxygen sensor on bank 2 BEFORE the catalytic converter, which again once I know which side is bank 2 I should find the oxygen sensor on the exhaust manifold of that side before the catalytic converter.

Manufacturers us different numbers. Its a toss up you can either try and change the easier of the two and hope thats it or try searching online and maybe finding out how mazda label bank 1 bank two. Usually bank 1 is the side with cylinder 1. So if you know your firing order i would find cylinder one and try the O2 on the opposite side of that first.

Bank two is the front of the engine closest to you on your vehicle. The sensor that you want to change (Bank 2 sensor 1) is located at the top right side of the front exhaust manifold. You will see another sensor below that on - that is Bank 2 sesor 2 (after the catalyst)

Thank you Kevin of HouseCall Auto Mechanics. I did find the two O2 sensors one high on the front Exhaust manifold and one lower. I will unplug one at a time and read the OBDII to make sure I unplugged the correct sensor that most likely needs to be replaced.
    Thanks again.
