2000 Mercury Cougar V6 6Cyl2.5L - Body & Interior
I have a 2000 mercury cougar v6 #26 fuse which controls headlights/high beams only keeps blowing.
Took the dash apart and radio and followed the wire loom and found no open wires. It appears that the #26 fuse contact is broken and causing shorts. 7.5amp fuse tried using a 10amp just takes a little longer to blow. I got a used fuse box from Ebay and want to know if I need to disconnect the neg battery post before attempting to install it and if anything will have to be reset like remote key code /radio etc. Or anything else. The fuse box connects with plug in and just pulls out from under the dash. Thanks
