1980 Pontiac LeMans Base 8Cyl5.0L - Engine
1970 Pontiac Lemans Sport, 350 eng, AT,AC, 2 bbl, Hard to Start
When vehicle is cold (after sitting for a week or so), it is difficult start. I have to pump the accelerator several times before it starts. Once it starts, it runs fine and will start without touching the accelerator as long as I drive it everyday, which I seldom do. I drive the vehicle about three to four days in a row and then it sit for a week or more. I drive it about 1500-2000 miles a year. Any suggestions/advice will be appreciated

Could be a defective ignition coil or engine coolant sensor if equipped.

Then you'll have to test the fuel pump pressure if under specifications. If fuel pump delivers only a low pressure engine will have difficulty in starting. Another is, if fuel pressure regulator turns defective, you'll have the same problem.
