SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – AutoMD.com™ CARSON, CA

We’re looking for a strong PHP (LAMP) Development Manager to join our multi-cultural, multi-continent team and help us keep up with all the new development requirements. You’ll get to teach / train / mentor the development team in advanced PHP coding techniques and methods; work with the business owners to design new features and functionality; and keep our nimble, agile team focused, efficient, and communicating effectively. We have a lot going on simultaneously, so that’s not as easy as it sounds! Our team is located in the Philippines, India, and California. You’ll be based in our California office in Carson, CA 90746.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Directly manage team of on-site developers.
• Coordinate development work of off-shore teams.
• Collaborate with technical directors and project managers in the provisioning of estimates and provide accurate reports on development progress.
• Define requirements for logical and physical server architecture for projects.
• Provide technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration from definition phase through implementation.
• Easily recognize system deficiencies and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure that all codes are developed according to established procedures and practices.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Facilitate team meetings effectively.
• Hold regular status meetings with development teams.
• Travel to Philippines and India for team and/or project coordination when deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of senior-level development experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack
• 3+ years of development manager experience.
• 2+ years experience with coordinating with off-shore development teams.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience developing highly scalable web applications.
• History of success in managing and delivering highly complex projects on tight schedules.
• A collaborative team leadership style that inspires and motivates people.
• Superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum.
• BSCS or related.
