Secure the vehicle on a level surface, making sure the vehicle will not roll or lean too much when jacked up. edit step - submit photo

Secure the vehicle with jack stands on both sides for safety before starting any work. Do not rely on the jack alone to hold the vehicle up while working. edit step - submit photo

Remove the rear wheels. edit step - submit photo

Remove the brake assembly. edit step - submit photo

Unbolt and remove the flange. edit step - submit photo

Slide the axle shaft out of the axle shaft housing. edit step - submit photo

Remove the rear axle bearing from the axle shaft or axle housing. edit step - submit photo

Inspect the axle shaft or axle shaft housing for grooves or damage. edit step - submit photo

Re-install the axle retainer flange and new axle seal on the axle shaft or housing. edit step - submit photo

Install the new rear axle bearing and collar. edit step - submit photo

Press the collar and bearing assembly onto the axle shaft. edit step - submit photo

Reinstall the axle shaft into the axle shaft housing. edit step - submit photo

Spin the axle shaft until the splines match up with the gears in the differential edit step - submit photo

Install and tighten the axle shaft retaining flange. edit step - submit photo

Reinstall the brake assembly. edit step - submit photo

Check rear axle fluid level. edit step - submit photo

If the fluid level is low, add fluid. edit step - submit photo

Reinstall the wheel. edit step - submit photo

Torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications . edit step - submit photo
