Pull the hood release latch.

Lift the hood and support it with a hood prop.

Remove the retaining clips from the strut pivot points. Suggestion: After lifting the clip with a screwdriver, using needle nose pliers will give you better control of the clip.

Remove the faulty hood strut.

Install the new strut.

Install the new retaining clips. Make sure the clips are secure.

Remove the hood prop and verify that the hood stays up.

Close the hood.
