How to Replace an Ignition Wire Set

Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or closed toe shoes.

Open the hood and locate the vehicle's ignition wires.

Gain access to the vehicle's ignition wires.

Mark the ignition wires for installation reference.

Remove the number one ignition wire from the distributor cap and spark plug. Lay out the new wires and match the correct length wire to the one removed. Repeat this process to install the rest of the ignition wires.
