Locate and open the tailgate.

Locate the tailgate support straps/cables.

Remove the support straps/cables from the tailgate.
Tip: Before removing the tailgate from the vehicle you may need to remove or disconnect electrical components.

Lift the tailgate off the passenger side hinge.

Pull the tailgate out of the driver's side hinge. Remove the tailgate.

To install the new tailgate, follow the removal procedures in reverse.

Close the tailgate and inspect for alignment along the edges.

Open and close the tailgate to verify repairs.
