Park the vehicle on a level surface and allow the engine to cool off. Open the hood and locate the exhaust manifold. Before working under the hood, make sure the hood struts are strong enough to support the weight. If the struts are weak, use a prop to keep the hood from falling.

Disconnect the exhaust pipe and any braces or tubing that may be connected to the manifold.

Remove the exhaust manifold bolts. Remove the exhaust manifold.

Clean all mounting surfaces. Remove burrs and bits of hardened gasket material.

Install the exhaust manifold gasket between the engine and exhaust manifold.

Torque the manifold bolts to the manufacturer's specifications in the proper sequence.

Reconnect all manifold exhaust tubes and braces.

Start the vehicle and check for exhaust leaks to verify the repair.
