How to Replace a Power Window Switch

Safety Tip: Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or closed toe shoes.

Inspect fuse box for faulty / open fuses. Fuse box locations can be found in the vehicle owner's manual.

Remove the power window switch from the door panel.

Depending on your make and model - you may need to remove the door panel to access the cabling for the switch. You can easily remove the door panel by unclipping the handles and switches with a screw driver. As you remove components from the door be cautious of items that may be secured with additional screws. If it feels like you are having to use a lot of force to free it, there is most likely a screw or locking clip securing it. Take your time and inspect how each piece is secured in place.

Install new power window switch into the door panel..

Reconnect power window switch. Test the window and switch operation before installing the door panel.

Reinstall door panel and power]
